First Bulletin

A roleplaying game of propaganda and espionage for 2–6 players.

Tabletop RPG  ·  Core Rulebook + City Modules  ·  Created by Rick Liebling

Good morning. This is Radio Free Saarbrücken. The time is 06:00. Here is the day's First Bulletin.

A lorry overturned on the bridge this morning. The police call it an accident — but dockworkers claim to have seen suspicious activity in the area.

At the Rathaus, Office 3B is "temporarily closed." No explanation was given.

A pair of strangers at the Europäischer Hof are asking after "radio technicians," paying in crisp notes and refusing change.

Everyone at the table knows what kind of day it is.

No surveillance. No spam. One transmission when we launch.

What kind of game is this
01

Not a dungeon crawl

Information, credibility, and paperwork are your weapons. Violence is the mistake you make when every other tool has failed.

02

Tense and plausible

Cold rooms. Warm lies. The city tightens like a belt. You may win the moment and still lose something you needed.

03

Historical. Yours.

The setting is real. The pressures are real. The outcomes are not fixed. What happened in your city is up to your table.

The Game

You are Western-aligned operatives attached to a covert broadcast and information apparatus in Cold War Europe. Your job is to keep the city leaning the right way — without being exposed.

Work happens in the seams of ordinary life: cafés, border posts, newsrooms, union halls, and back corridors where the lights are always on. You are not trying to win the Cold War in a night. You are trying to win today.
